I’m Yasmin, affectionately known as Yaz to loved ones. I paint. I love to make sweet treats. I upcycle my old stuff. I’m a wife… and I’m a mother.
I am a Los Angeles native, however, I consider Houston, TX as my second home since my immediate family lives there and visit so often. After a traumatic experience giving birth to my son, I realized that I could no longer let my dreams be pushed aside. I decided that it was time to let my talents shine and pursue my passions any way I can.
That’s why I’m here! Through Blooming August, I am sharing my journey to live a life that I love, in hopes to provide inspiration for you to embark your own journey and start planting seeds as well. Laugh with me. Bake with me. Grow with me!
Favorite Color: Right now, it’s yellow.
Favorite Dessert: Warm Apple Pie with crumble topping and Vanilla Ice Cream
Ice Cream Flavor: Prailines ‘N Cream by Blue Bell
Best advice I ever received: “Do what you love!” – from my college professor, Dr. Lori Baker-Schena
Last picture I took on my phone: an empty tray of peach cobbler at family gathering. It was gone in 5 minutes and I almost missed it!
Favorite song to dance to: The Wobble always gets me moving every time. (don’t judge me!)
My favorite quote –
“I’ve learned that fear limits you and your vision. It serves as blinders to what may be just a few steps down the road for you. The journey is valuable, but believing in your talents, your abilities, and your self-worth can empower you to walk down an even brighter path. Transforming fear into freedom – how great is that?”
